Video for Windows

Any application software using a VfW interface can access any imaging hardware which runs with a VfW driver. Today, the VfW interface is in the more modern DirectX.

A VfW based application software can also access any image source (as FireWire cameras, Video-to-FireWire converters, frame grabbers etc.) under Windows 2000 and Windows XP as long as it is compatible to DirectX.

Please note:

• The compatibility between VfW and DirectX is only valid for RGB formats.
