NOVEMBER 30, 2004 Background Information: Multi-Exposure (CMOS Cameras) Going on our everyday experience a camera only works with ONE exposure time. This, however, may lead to problems if the brightness differences of an image are very high. Adapting the exposure time to the dark image parts leads to over-exposure of the bright ones and vice versa. It is possible to use modern CMOS cameras with different exposure times. The pixels of dark image parts are exposed for a long time while those of bright parts are exposed considerably shorter.
