Low Cost FireWire Cameras

Parading under the buzzword 'FireWire', the IEEE 1394 standard is currently getting a lot of attention from the image processing community. We all too often forget however, that FireWire is actually only a standardization at bus level and that low prices require that all components in the image processing chain be standardized - not just the bus.

The new family of FireWire cameras (Dxx 21F04) is based on standards at all levels - from the operating system to the camera.

Learn more: Cameras.

The cameras are shipped with a WDM driver, an ActiveX, a C++ class library, programming examples (including source code) and a sample application to acquire single images and image sequences.

As always, should you like to speak to us about any topic related to image processing, please get in contact with us.
