APRIL 28, 2003 FireWire Cameras: Vision SYSTEM Software Vision SYSTEM software supporting DirectX, ActiveX, OPC, Python and TCP/IP. In our last newsletter, we concentrated on FireWire cameras. We also discussed the use of DirectX to separate vision software from vision hardware. However, the trend towards open standards also includes the I/O part of vision systems. In this context, OPC is the "natural" counterpart of DirectX. As far as we know, Scorpion Vision Software is the first software that integrates DirectX, OPC as well as other PC standard and thereby can offer complete vision systems without any programming.
