Background Information: How Color Cameras Work

In our everyday life (photography, video, ...) we seldom come across monochrome images. The use of color cameras has become such a "normality" that we do not think about their mode of operation.

In the everyday practice of industrial and medical image processing, however, we often face problems which require basic knowledge concerning the subject "color". To aid in the learning (or freshening up) of these basics, we have prepared the following background essays:
