Extending FireWire Cables

Normally, the length of a FireWire cable may not exceed 4.5 m. Today, we are proud to present two measures that allow this restriction to be overcome.
  1. New cables allow a maximum length of 10 m:
    CA-1394-66/10

  2. Using repeaters, we are able to easily connect up to 16 cables:
    FireWire REP/1
Therefore, it is possible to bridge distances of up to 160 m, while maintaining the full bandwidth of 400 MBit/s.
