Imaging solutions for applications with variable working distances or object sizes
The Z Series optical zoom cameras from The Imaging Source feature an integrated motorized lens for software-controlled adjustment of focal length, aperture, and focus. Available with a selection of highly-sensitive CMOS sensors (global and rolling shutter), The Imaging Source zoom cameras are perfect for applications where variable working distances, object sizes, and lighting conditions are an issue. These cameras are uniquely suited to tasks such as inspection, sorting, process control and metrology.
The Imaging Source's autofocus cameras offer increased flexibility over fixed-focus cameras, delivering excellent image quality and optimally sharp images despite fluctuations in working distance. Additional camera features such as binning, windowing and high-speed readout provide increased imaging precision and processing speeds.

Autofocus cameras for machine vision projects with fluctuating working distances
In some machine vision system scenarios, maintaining exact working distances are virtually impossible, causing objects to move out of focus. For these applications, The Imaging Source offers a selection of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 autofocus cameras. Utilizing a software-driven one-push autofocus, the cameras produce sharp images despite fluctuations in working distance.
Highly-sensitive ON Semi and Sony CMOS sensors deliver excellent image quality - even in poor lighting conditions. Additional image control functions such as gain and exposure time can be adjusted automatically or manually via the included imaging software. The cameras' compact dimensions ensure easy integration into new or existing applications.
The Imaging Source's zoom cameras not only allow for rapid adjustments to fluctuating working distances but also for changing fields of view and lighting conditions.
The Z-Series optical zoom cameras (12x, 20x and 30x) feature an integrated motorized lens for software-controlled adjustment of focal length (zoom), aperture and focus. The cameras are available as color and monochrome variants with a selection of global and rolling shutter sensors (1.2 MP - 5 MP).
The cameras' precise stepper motors quickly adjust focal length and focus with complete zoom transition (i.e. from fully zoomed-out to fully zoomed-in) in under 6 seconds. The supplied software provides control over additional camera features such as autoiris and mechanical IR-cut-filter switch.
GigE Vision and GeniCam compliance ensures simple integration into a wide range of machine vision projects including industrial automation, quality assurance, in-line inspection, traffic (ITS), surveillance, and medical engineering.
Application-specific imaging solutions from experts with over 30 years of machine vision experience and know-how.
In addition to manufacturing a wide variety of ready-made machine vision cameras, The Imaging Source also manufactures customized camera solutions for customer-specific requirements. Customers may specify minor or major changes to casing design, PCB layout, connection type, location and pinning, in addition to alterations to software drivers and end-user applications. The Imaging Source guarantees to manufacture customized camera solutions to the same high technical level as our ready-made cameras.
