Updates and Improvements to TIS Software Portfolio

Published on July 20, 2022 by TIS Marketing.

As The Imaging Source continues to expand and improve its lineup of high-performance imaging hardware, our software engineers have also been at work on the software tools that power your vision applications. We are, therefore, pleased to announce improvements and extensions to our software portfolio.

The Imaging Source has updated and improved its software SDKs, driver packages, and programming samples.

SDKs

tiscamera: We have recently released tiscamera 1.0, The Imaging Source's image acquisition SDK for Linux, and accompanying software packages which can be downloaded from our website. The open-source code of this Linux SDK can also be accessed and downloaded from our GitHub repository and has been reworked, containing several internal and external changes:

  • Unified handling and naming of camera properties
  • Improved and simplified property API
  • Seamless integration of MIPI cameras
  • Optional NVIDIA® CUDA-based preprocessing for the NVIDIA® Jetson™ platform via tcamdutils-cuda
  • Overall reliability and performance improvements

On the Windows Side: We've updated The Imaging Source's GitHub repository containing programming samples for IC Imaging Control, including an improved Python wrapper in addition to other changes.

End-user Software

Coming Soon: Our software engineers are revising the well-known IC Measure. Development goals include platform independence, state-of-the-art look and feel, and multi-camera support. While we are working on a full release for all platforms (Windows, Linux, NVIDIA Jetson), we have recently released an initial version for Linux: IC Measure 3.0.

Drivers

Recently Released: Our updated drivers for The Imaging Source's USB3 Vision and GigE Vision cameras include minor bugfixes and improvements.
