Acuva GMSL2 Cameras Enter Series Production

Published on January 26, 2026 by TIS Marketing.

After a successful launch phase, The Imaging Source's Acuva series of GMSL2 cameras has officially entered series production. Now available for regular ordering, the cameras are designed for embedded vision systems operating in harsh environments and demanding industrial applications.

The Acuva GMSL2 camera series has officially entered series production. Designed for demanding embedded vision applications, Acuva combines high-speed data transfer, rugged IP67 housing, and a validated ecosystem for faster system integration.

The Imaging Source's First GMSL2 Camera Models

As The Imaging Source's first camera family based on the GMSL2 interface, Acuva was developed to address the growing need for high-bandwidth, low-latency image transmission over long cable distances while supporting robust operation and efficient system design.

High-Speed, Robust Embedded Vision Connectivity

Acuva cameras support data rates of up to 6 Gbps via Power over Coax (PoC) over distances of up to 15 meters. Combined with an IP67-rated housing, the series is well suited for applications exposed to vibration, dust, moisture, and temperature fluctuations.

Sensor Options for Diverse Applications

With series production underway, the Acuva lineup includes multiple sensor variants to support a wide range of imaging requirements:

  • onsemi AR0234: 2.3 MP, global shutter

  • Sony IMX900: 3.2 MP, global shutter

  • Sony IMX568: 5.1 MP, global shutter

  • onsemi AR2020: 20 MP, rolling shutter

Validated Embedded Vision Platforms

Acuva cameras have been validated with embedded vision platforms such as the Neousys NRU-160-AWP, NRU51V, and FLYC-300 series as well as Connect Tech Rudi-N X systems. Pre-verified compatibility with rugged embedded platforms allows system integrators to focus on application development rather than basic integration work.

"With Acuva now in series production, we're delivering a robust and scalable GMSL2 camera platform that aligns with our embedded vision strategy and customer demand," said Momchil Binev, Senior Product Manager at The Imaging Source. "The combination of performance, ecosystem support, and cost-efficiency makes Acuva a strong foundation for embedded vision systems."
