We're excited to announce the latest release of our IC Imaging Control 4 SDK. The new release brings a range of enhancements across drivers, tools, and applications. This update focuses on added flexibility, expanded device compatibility, and an overall improved user experience with The Imaging Source's industrial and embedded cameras.

Expanded Firmware Update Support

In order to ensure more consistent and efficient device management throughout your workflows, firmware update capabilities have been extended across all major components, including GigE Vision GenTL Driver; USB3 Vision GenTL Driver; IC4 SDK core.

GigE Vision GenTL Driver Improvements

· Added support for multicast streaming for efficient data distribution to multiple clients

USB3 Vision GenTL Driver Enhancements

New MIPI GenTL Driver for NVIDIA Jetson Orin

Our new IC4 MIPI GenTL drivers are designed to simplify the integration of our 36S MIPI CSI-2 and Acuva GMSL2 series cameras into NVIDIA Jetson Orin-based platforms, reducing setup time and improving system reliability.

  • Direct integration with our NVIDIA Jetson Orin reference designs

  • Support for third-party-based NVIDIA Jetson Orin hardware (e.g., OEMs)

  • Optimized performance for embedded and edge AI applications

IC4 SDK Updates

  • Introduction of ic4-gstreamer for improved integration into streaming and processing pipelines

  • Updated Linux reference system to Ubuntu 22 LTS, including an upgrade to Qt 6.2 for modernized UI and development support

IC Barcode: Full IC4 Integration

  • Full compatibility with the IC4 ecosystem

  • Simplified licensing via IC4 drivers

  • New example demonstrating seamless interaction with the IC4 SDK

IC Capture Enhancements

  • New Vietnamese localization

  • Full-screen mode for improved visualization

    • Reintroduction of the 3-point circle tool

Transition Notice: tiscamera SDK Moving to End-of-Life

We would like to inform you of the planned End-of-Life (EOL) of the tiscamera SDK, our legacy SDK for Linux OS, and outline the transition to its successor, IC Imaging Control 4 or newer. The official EOL date for tiscamera SDK is April 1, 2029. This timeline aligns with the end of Ubuntu 24 LTS' standard lifecycle which is the current reference system we support.

We strongly encourage all users to begin planning their transition to IC Imaging Control 4 to ensure continued support and access to future enhancements.

Key milestones:

  • April 1, 2029: Official End-of-Life

  • Immediate transition to maintenance mode (no new features)

  • No active implementation support for Ubuntu 26 LTS and beyond
