The Imaging Source has expanded its compact 37U Industrial camera series with new color and monochrome models featuring Sony's 50.3 MP IMX06A rolling-shutter sensor.

With a large 1/0.98-inch sensor format, 1.6 µm pixels and a compact 42 × 42 × 25 mm housing, the new models combine high-resolution imaging with the straightforward integration of a USB 3.1 Type-C platform.

Capture More Detail Across a Large Field of View

At 50.3 megapixels, the new 37U models can capture fine structures and small features while covering comparatively large inspection areas. This combination makes them particularly relevant wherever both high spatial detail and a wide field of view are required.

Potential applications include PCB and semiconductor inspection, metrology, automated quality assurance, production automation, and medical and life-science imaging.

The Sony IMX06A combines its high resolution with a large 1/0.98-inch sensor format and 1.6 µm pixels for effective photon collection under demanding imaging conditions. Its rolling-shutter architecture is especially appropriate for predominantly static objects and applications with controlled motion.

50.3 MP in a Compact USB 3.1 Camera

High resolution doesn't have to mean a complicated camera platform. The new models retain the established 37U Industrial series' compact 42 × 42 × 25 mm form factor and use a USB 3.1 Type-C interface for both high-bandwidth data transfer and camera power.

Hardware triggering and I/O connectivity support integration into automated vision systems, while the C-mount interface provides flexibility when selecting industrial optics. The cameras also offer 10-bit dynamic range for precision inspection and measurement tasks.

The new IMX06A-based 37U Industrial cameras are available in both color and monochrome variants. Both models are in regular production and available for order.

To complement the new camera models, The Imaging Source has also expanded its C-Pro portfolio with six new 25 MP C-mount lenses. Covering focal lengths from 8 to 50 mm and supporting pixel sizes down to 2.4 µm, the new lenses provide additional options for configuring cost-effective imaging systems for demanding industrial applications.
